Ana M. Berenguer


Managing Director of J. M. Berenguer & Associates, Inc..  Mrs. Berenguer was born in Miami Beach, Florida, on August 14, 1962, and has lived all her life in Florida.  She obtained her Bachelor of Business Management and Organization from the University of Miami in 1984 and her Life and Health License from the Florida Department of Insurance.

Mrs. Berenguer was a former compliance officer in healthcare and has extensive experience in health regulation, particularly in the areas of health maintenance organizations and managed care related matters, including obtaining Certificate of Authority, Medicaid and Medicare Risk contracting, State and Federal Regulatory Compliance, Insurance Product Development, HMO operations, including Grievance processes.   Currently holds a membership with the Health Care Compliance Association, HCCA.

Mrs. Berenguer prior experience included the following:

1996 – 2001 Beacon Health Plans, Inc. Coral Gables, (Now Vista Health Plans), Vice President of Operations, Government Affairs “Compliance Officer”.  Job responsibility included due diligence, Product Development and training of the Company’s   Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial Product Lines; Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities for all Product Lines of business.  Experience in filing for:  Certificate of Authority for Health Maintenance Organization License; Medicaid Contract; Medicare Contract; Frail Elderly contract.

1994 - 1996 John Alden Health Care Management Division Miami, Florida. Position of Vice President of Government Programs. Responsible for development, implementation and administration of the Medicaid and Medicare products for Neighborhood Health Partnership. 

                       

1991 ?] 1994    Physician Corporation of America, Miami,  Florida, Position of Senior Medicaid Marketing Director. Responsible for Medicaid Marketing statewide and for Regional budgeting and planning of expansions.

 

1989 ?] 1991    Century Medical Health Plan, Inc. Hialeah, Florida, Position of Medicaid Director. Duties included supervision of all marketing, membership, and operations of the Medicaid Contractual Obligations.
